Interested in joining our lab as a Clinical Science doctoral student?

A number of personal qualities are important to the success of psychological scientists who study children, adolescents and families, especially those affected by violence. These include passion for the work, empathy, integrity, intellectual curiosity, scientific aptitude, a love for learning, resourcefulness, persistence, efficiency, discipline, and resilience, among others.

Many applicants are still exploring career options and learning about their own strengths and interests. In general, the best applicants and the most successful doctoral students in our lab have a strong work ethic and a deep desire to learn about and conduct psychological research, with an eye toward improving services for survivors of violence, especially child survivors.
