Dr. Louis L. Jacobs, Emeritus Professor in the Roy M. Huffington Department of Earth Sciences at SMU, is a distinguished vertebrate paleontologist whose career spans research, teaching, and leadership on four continents.
A past president of the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology and the Institute for the Study of Earth and Man, he has received numerous awards for his scholarship and service, and even has ten fossil species named in his honor.
