[November 7, 2025] SMU Police have identified and arrested the individual mentioned in the October 23, 2025, advisory (below) involving alleged credit card thefts in several administrative offices on campus.
University law enforcement appreciates the assistance of community members who provided information that led to today’s arrest.

[October 23, 2025] SMU Police are investigating the theft of multiple credit cards that occurred between October 9, 2025, and October 22, 2025, in various administrative offices on campus.
Video footage shows the individual believed to be responsible, described as a Black male in his late 40s to early 50s wearing glasses, a blue or white SMU T-shirt and an SMU or ‘214’ ballcap. The subject frequents social gatherings and then sneaks back to an office to commit these thefts.
