[9/18 at 2:10 p.m.] SMU Police have identified and taken into custody the individual referenced in the advisory issued earlier about the assault at the Umphrey Lee dining facility.

[9/17 at 4:42 p.m.] On September 16, 2025, an SMU student reported being assaulted on two separate occasions while waiting in the food line at the Umphrey Lee Dining Facility. In both instances, an unknown individual stood behind the student and touched them in an unwanted and inappropriate manner.
The first incident happened around 1:45 p.m. and the second occurred at about 6:15 p.m.
Please help SMU PD identify and find this individual. The person of interest is described as a Black male, approximately 35–40 years old, wearing a dark shirt, gray vest and a ball cap.
