Senator John McCain served on the SMU Tower Center Honorary Board of Directors and he received the Tower Center Medal of Freedom in 2006. As a Center we mourn the loss of such a dedicated public servant. Here are a few words from our leadership:
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of John McCain. America has lost a true patriot and Statesman. He served the country he loved with courage and fortitude, first in the US Navy and then in the US Congress; and he always put country above politics and party labels. We will miss him!”
-Jeanne Tower Cox
Tower Center Board Member“Senator McCain was a zealous patriot and public servant. He loved his country and advanced the cause of freedom. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family.”
-Dan Branch
