Register for Food for Thought: Arts Activism & Technology

Join us for a conversation over dinner celebrating the launch of the second phase of Regina Taylor’s the black album project, mixtape. The first course will include a virtual meal served on black bone china that has been handcrafted by student artists. For dessert, enjoy a lively discussion on arts activism and technology moderated by Theatre Forward’s Carl Sylvestre and featuring Alliance Theatre’s Mellon Playwright in Residence Pearl Cleage, Executive Artistic Director of Actors Theatre of Louisville Robert Barry Fleming, and Oregon Shakespeare Festival’s sixth artistic director Nataki Garrett.

Screening of the black album. 2020. resistance. 

the black album. 2020. resistance., was a collage of monologues, songs, scenes and images written and directed by Taylor and performed live online in October by Meadows undergraduate and graduate acting students. Sets, costumes, lighting and sound were created by Meadows theatre design students, alumni and faculty in collaboration with guest artists. The production was filmed and will be screened for the first time in this evening presentation. Ms. Taylor will participate in a post-show session along with student actors.
