The Mission Foods Texas-Mexico Center is excited to announce the four grant projects it has funded for 2019, focusing on three of the Center’s five key areas.

Migration

  • Border Policies for a New Era: Reimagining U.S.-Mexico Cooperation on Migration
    • Lead researcher: Andrew Selee, President of the Migration Policy Institute
  • Contemporary High-Skilled Mexican Immigrant Entrepreneurs in Texas
    • Lead Researcher: Elizabeth Salamanca, Associate Professor in the School of Business and Economics at the University of the Americas Puebla

Energy

  • Policy Implications of Trans-National Shale Development in Texas and Mexico
    • Lead researcher: Matthew Fry, Associate Professor in the Department of Geography and the Environment at the University of North Texas

Trade & Investment

  • From Trade Liberalization to Neo-Protectionism, Changes in U.S. Trade Policy and its Effects on Texas Regional Exports to Mexico
    • Eduardo Mendoza, Professor–Researcher at the El Colegio de la Frontera Norte
