On April 4, 2022, UEI will replace the DUNS number as the primary means of entity identification for Federal awards government-wide. The UEI is generated as part of SAM.gov registration and current SAM.gov registrants have already been assigned their UEI and can view it in SAM.gov and grants.gov.
