Southern Methodist University Real Estate Team Takes Second Place in Fifth Annual ICSC Foundation Real Estate Case Competition
Dallas, TX – November 16, 2024 – A team of undergraduate real estate students from Southern Methodist University (SMU) earned second place in the Fifth Annual ICSC Foundation Real Estate Case Competition, held on Saturday, November 16, 2024. The competition, which provides a platform for students to apply their real estate knowledge and creativity, challenged teams to develop and present strategic solutions to a complex real estate scenario before a panel of esteemed industry professionals.
The SMU team, composed of four passionate sophomores—Cole Records, Buddy McGowin, Andrew Clarkson, and Dhillon Patel—spent one week crafting their presentation, working collaboratively to analyze the case and design innovative solutions. Their efforts were rewarded with a $2,000 prize, which will be shared among the team members.
The ICSC Foundation Real Estate Case Competition is renowned for attracting top-tier undergraduate teams from the leading real estate programs across the country. This year, teams from institutions such as Colorado State University, Indiana University – Bloomington, Indiana University – Indianapolis, Michigan State University, Rutgers University, University of Alabama, University of Connecticut, and University of Guelph participated in the competition.
The competition offered an invaluable opportunity for participants to engage with seasoned professionals, hone their strategic thinking, and gain firsthand experience in the highly competitive real estate industry.
