On January 31st, 20 SMU undergraduates embarked on an exclusive tour of top real estate firms in Dallas, gaining firsthand insights from industry leaders. Here’s a recap of their journey:
Stop #1 – Eastdil Secured
The trek kicked off at Eastdil Secured, a premier real estate investment bank. Students met with industry professionals who shared insights on capital markets, investment sales, and strategic advisory. This deep dive into real estate finance gave students a firsthand look at high-level deal structuring and market analytics.
Stop #2 – Fortress Investment Group
Next, students visited Fortress Investment Group, a global leader in real estate, private equity, and credit investments. Engaging with top professionals—including Co-CEOs Drew McKnight and Joshua Pack—students explored Fortress’s investment strategies and even tested their knowledge in a quiz, with winners scoring exclusive Fortress swag!
Stop #3 – Invesco
Over a working lunch at Invesco US, students connected with experts on market trends, real estate capital markets, and asset management strategies. This session highlighted Invesco’s innovative approach to investment solutions, from ETFs to alternative assets.
Stop #4 – Goldman Sachs

Stop #5 – Crow Holdings
The trek wrapped up at Crow Holdings, headquartered at the historic Old Parkland campus.
