Bill (William B.) Moorer and wife Helen have moved to the Methodist Manor Retirement Community in Tulsa, OK. At SMU, Helen served as Dr. Willis Tate's Secretary while Bill was a Perkins student (M.Th. '61). Dr. Moorer served forty-one years in the Oklahoma Conference in parish ministry, campus ministry, and as a district superintendent. In addition, he was Executive Director of the Oklahoma Conference of Churches. In Tulsa, Bill continues to serve as a Chaplain at the V.A. Outpatient Clinic, after serving in that position at the Muskogee, OK, V.A. Medical Center. The Moorers have two children and three grandchildren.
V. Hugh (Chip) Price, Jr. was elected executive board vice chair of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) at a board meeting July 23, 2013. The AVMA was founded in 1863 and has more than 84,000 members, one of the oldest and largest veterinary medical organizations in the world. He is director of animal resources at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport and professor of molecular and cellular physiology and professor of emergency medicine at the University. Prior to his teaching career at LSU, which spans from 1984 to present day, he was a National Institute of Health Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of Missouri, 1981-1984. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1970 to 1974 and continued his service in the U.S. Army Reserve, retiring as lieutenant colonel in 2007.
