In June 2024, SMU Libraries uploaded 304 items in SMU Libraries Digital Collections. Highlights include:

47 negatives, ca. 1950s, from the Richard Steinheimer Photograph Collection. Subjects include a Muni bus at San Francisco’s “Playland at the Beach”, the Key System Transit Line in Oakland, California, and a colored image of a Santa Fe train at a station.

97 items, ca. 1910s-1920s, from the Elmer and Diane Powell Collection on Mexico and the Mexican Revolution. The majority of items are related to the Second Battle of Torreón in the spring of 1914. Subjects include a mass meeting before Pancho Villa’s arrival at Torreón, followers of Félix Díaz posing at a stockade, and a rebel soldier who killed ten Federal soldiers after being injured.

19 oral history transcript excerpts, 1982-1983, from the Ronald L. Davis Oral History Collection. The interviewees are from all branches of the performing arts, but the emphasis is on motion pictures and popular music. Many interviewees give detailed accounts of personal experience and reflections from their professional career. Highlights include excerpts from interviews with Rock Hudson, Florence Henderson, and George Chakiris.

1 photograph album, With Arthur Luckhaus in France, ca. 1910-1919, comprising collages, photographs, and documents. Arthur Luckhaus’s souvenir album documents his time as a photographer in the U.S. Army in the early 20th century. Events depicted include the Pershing Expedition and World War One. The album consists of photographs and newspaper clippings showing the people and environs Luckhaus encountered during his career, including scenes from the United States, Mexico, France, Germany, Belgium, and the United Kingdom.

9 interviews were added to the SMU Oral History and Digital Humanities Student Projects collection. These interviews, with Anna Musich, Celia Sencalar, Charlee Nguyen, Emilio Wong, Marcos Rincon, Maria Rios, Oluwaseun ”Priscilla” Taiwo, Regina Nguyen, and Thear Suzuki, are part of the Voices of SMU project.
