In May 2025, SMU Libraries uploaded 224 items into SMU Libraries Digital Collections. Highlights include:
55 negatives, ca. 1957-1960, from the Richard Steinheimer Photograph Collection. In the photographs, Steinheimer documents railroad cars, depots, workers, and people during various trips in California, the Pacific Northwest, and the Midwest.
9 detail and erecting card drawings, 1898-1927, from the Collection of Baldwin Locomotive Works Records, for Aberdeen & Rockfish, Bridgton & Saco River, Cambria & Indiana, Charleston & Western Carolina, Detroit Terminal, New York, Ontario and Western, and the Sobral Railway.
11 newspapers, 1858, from Historic Newspapers at Bridwell Library. The Texas Wesleyan Banner, later known as the Texas Christian Advocate, was a weekly newspaper published by the Methodist Episcopal Church that distributed news related to the Methodist Church in Texas. These newspapers were digitized by Texas Tech University using Bridwell Library’s copies on microfilm.

38 stereographs, ca. 1860s, from the Stereographs of Mexico, featuring views of Orizaba during the 1860s, either during or shortly after the Second Franco-Mexican War. Scenes include views of churches, industrial buildings, bridges, and homes around Orizaba, the return of Gral. Ignacio de la Llave’s ashes, and public religious gatherings. Two items in this set are from Julio Michaud’s studio, one showing the Canal de la Viga in Mexico City and the other showing an interior view of a building.
17 historic Texas cookbooks, 1900-1960, comprising 1,573 pages, were added to the DeGolyer Library Cookbook Collection, including a cookbook of of Czech recipes from the Czech-Moravian Brethren Church in Taylor, Texas, and a book of baking recipes sponsored by Gladiola flour. This project was made possible by a grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services and Texas State Library and Archives Commission (Grant Number LS‐256843‐OLS‐24).
