The Kitt Center

Located in the Business Library, the Kitt Investing and Trading Center serves as the centerpiece and focal point of the Cox School of Business and a featured stop on every prospective and new student campus tour.

Dedicated on September 28, 2011, the Kitt Center is a substantial gift to the University from the family of Barry M. and Beth M. Kitt and is inspired by Mr. Kitt’s years in the financial markets. The 37-seat Kitt Center gives students the opportunity to learn practical finance and investment applications as an integral part of the finance curriculum, thanks to the student-managed investment portfolios of  Ann Rife Cox Undergraduate (~$4.3 million) and Nancy Chambers Underwood Graduate (~$7 million).

When the Kitt Center is not scheduled for a specific event, it is available to students to:

  • conduct research
  • work on class assignments with librarian assistance
  • achieve Bloomberg Certification

The Kitt Investing and Trading Center provides unique resources and learning opportunities to SMU students that help prepare them to be competitive and competent candidates when they enter the job market upon graduation and as they progress throughout their career. We look forward to each productive year engaging our students in finance research projects requiring creative problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
