Perkins student Wallace Wyatt, III recently enjoyed a high point in his work with the nonprofit After-School All-Stars (ASAS) North Texas. After the school that housed the program was demolished in the recent tornados, Executive Director Marissa Castro Mikoy called on Wyatt to help the organization present its story at the Dallas Influencers in Sports and Entertainment (DISE) Fast Pitch 2019 competition. Mikoy and Wyatt’s presentation was a winner and earned ASAS the top award of $20,000 from DISE and an additional $5,000 for the People’s Choice Award. Event sponsors and speakers included Troy Aikman, Jennifer Sampson with United Way of Metropolitan Dallas and Corby Davidson of Sportsradio 1310/ 96.7 FM The Ticket.
