Phyllis Johnson, former administrative assistant at Perkins, died June 27 at the age of 92. A celebration of life will be held at First United Methodist Church of Dallas, where she was a member, in October. Her obituary noted that Johnson, who retired at age 73, “truly enjoyed her career at SMU and considered it part of her ministry. She and John entertained students from all over the world in their home. She was quite the hostess and welcomed many into the loving and warm home that she made.” In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church Music and Arts Ministry, 1928 Ross Ave., Dallas, TX 75201.
