167 items from the George W. Cook Dallas/Texas Image Collection as part of the TexTreasures FY2016 grant program, sponsored by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission and funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Included were views depicting the cotton and oil industries and the Alamo, as well as landmark buildings from around the state. Of additional interest were postcards depicting planting at a Japanese Rice Farm situated near Houston and the performer Julius Behre, a vaudeville performer who was both a comedian and contortionist.8 photographs from the Everett L. DeGolyer Jr. Collection of United States Railroad Photographs featuring the Aeolus steam locomotives, which were streamlined by the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad Company to serve as backups for Zephyr diesel locomotives.
