The Book of Job

$1,000

Fund the SMU Summer Film Production, The Book of Job.

Description

Artistic collaboration is the most important aspect of the SMU Summer Film Production.  There’s an emphasis on apprenticeship, where upperclassmen help guide and educate younger filmmakers, so they are better equipped to tackle their own projects.  The production also seeks to collaborate with other Meadows schools. We’ll work with the Music Division to compose a score for the film; we’ll open auditions to the Theatre Division; we’ll get help with marketing materials from the Advertising Division. The interdisciplinary nature of filmmaking opens the production to art students of various backgrounds. Outside of SMU, we intend to work with industry professionals and alumni.

The Summer Film Production is by far the largest project within the Division of Film & Media Arts. On the most immediate level, it fosters a community within the film department, allowing students, regardless of year or experience, to get involved in the production.”
