What’s life like for SMU Meadows’ student musicians? It’s work. It’s rehearsals. Everyday. Walk the halls at Meadows, and you’ll may just hear Verdi, Mozart, or Mahler reverberating through the walls. They collaborate, and their performances are testaments to their work.
The Division of Music at SMU is internationally recognized for its award-winning students, renowned performing ensembles and distinguished faculty of performers, composers and scholars – including renowned Director of Chamber Music Aaron Boyd, Professor of Cello Andres Diaz, Director of the Meadows Jazz Orchestra Derrick Horne, and members of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Students interact with an extensive slate of guest performers, conductors, composers and scholars.
