Ricardo was one of 10 finalists in the competition, along with current graduate student Sarah Ann Holt; the contest was presented virtually this year due to the pandemic. The finalists’ videos were displayed online last week and the public chose Ricardo as their favorite performer. He will receive a $1,000 prize and be automatically invited to participate in The Dallas Opera National Vocal Competition semi-finals next year. At Meadows, Ricardo sang leading roles in our productions of Donizetti’s  L’elisir d’amore and Händel’s Alcina.
