How Can I Keep from Singing? Voice students perform from garages and porches

For his students’ end-of-term projects, Senior Lecturer in Voice Dale Dietert had them submit individual videos to share with their classes. Dietert compiled four of the videos into a story, “How Can I Keep from Singing?,” featuring songs recorded from various rooms in students’ homes – bedroom, bathroom, garage and back porch. The four students featured include Dietert’s private voice students and members of his Musical Theatre class.

Selected songs include “Over the Rainbow,” John Bucchino’s “Grateful,” “Another Pyramid” from the Elton John/Tim Rice production Aida, and “Say the Word” from The Unauthorized Autobiography of Samantha Brown.
