Glasstire’s Five-Minute Tours Follows Art Faculty and Alumna’s Work

In confronting the uncertainty surrounding the pandemic, it is more important than ever to build and sustain our community connections. With SMU Meadows Keep Going, we’ll share faculty, alumni and student works, stories and more reflecting how the Meadows community is responding to this unprecedented event. Follow #keepgoingmeadows on TwitterFacebook, and Instagram for more.

Glasstire TV is posting video “five-minute tours” of local art exhibitions sent in by curators and participants. One tour features the Conduit Gallery of works by art professor emeritus James Sullivan, who retired in 2019 after more than 30 years at SMU. Sullivan’s exhibition sees the artist closing in on his objects at varying scales that reflect his meditation on the body and its relation to objects.

James Sullivan: Unfinished Business 1 at Conduit Gallery, Dallas. Opening date: February 29, 2020.

Another follows MFA alumna Gail Norfleet at the Michelson Museum of Art in Marshall, Texas.

Gail Norfleet: Bending Toward the Light at Michelson Museum of Art, Marshall, TX. Dates: March 12 – May 23, 2020

Allyson Packer: Sounding at The Hawn Gallery at the Hamon Arts Library at SMU, Dallas. Dates: February 7, 2020 — TBD.
