On Thursday, October 26, SMU Meadows School of the Arts and the Dallas Theater Center (DTC) host a review and panel discussion of research findings from the pilot year of Public Works Dallas. Author and Stanford professor Shirley Brice Heath will compile the key points that offer thoughts for the coming year. Her talk will be followed by a panel discussion moderated by Dean of the Simmons School of Education Stephanie Knight, featuring DTC Artistic Director Kevin Moriarty and Director of Ignite/Arts Dallas Clyde Valentin.

It’s part of an arts and cultural movement underway in Dallas right now

From A-to-SYZYGY, it’s been nothing less than a busy year at SMU’s Meadows School of the Arts.

As we continue on to the next academic year and reflect on the inspiring events of 2015—which includes SMU Dance performing in New York’s prestigious Jose Limon festival, ground-breaking creative coding, a visit from the iconic actress Isabella Rossellini, the single largest gift to Meadows in our history, Meadows at the Meyerson and much, much more—we present a look at photos we love from the year at SMU Meadows School of the Arts. The indefatigable photographer Kim Leeson was on hand for many Meadows events. Here are just some of our favorites:

On the last weekend of September 2015, there were several milestones at SMU. The Centennial, 100 years since the birth of SMU, and the announcement that the SMU Board of Trustees raised one billion dollars. Then there was the 25th anniversary of the Hamon Arts Library, which celebrated by hosting a magnificent, succinct exhibit on Fashion Design Sketches by the eponymous donor. Amidst the celebration, SMU and Meadows School of the Arts celebrated Homecoming. The Meadows family came together to came together to watch the parade, enjoy music and dance, see old friends, and visit with the community.
