The M.A. in Art History: Highlights from SMU Students in the Program
- Published their research in Nineteenth Century Art Worldwide, The Journal for the Society of Architectural Historians; The Middle Ground Journal; Hemisphere: Visual Cultures of the Americas; and Athanor, and elsewhere
- Presented papers at the Morgan Library and Museum in New York City, the Venice Biennale in Italy; International Committee for the History of Technology (ICOHTEC) conference in Barcelona; Latrobe University, Melbourne Australia; and elsewhere
- Organized and presented at our annual Rhetorics of Art, Space, and Culture graduate student symposium
- Won “best presentation awards” at national graduate student symposia at the University of Florida and the Dahesh Museum, NYC/Association of Historians of Nineteenth-Century Art
- Held internships and curated exhibitions at the Dallas Museum of Art; the Hawn Gallery at SMU; the Latino Cultural Center, Dallas

- Won competitions for paid internships at the Getty Museum and National Gallery of Art, Washington DC
- Held paid staff positions at the Getty Museum, Nasher Sculpture Center, Dallas Museum of Art, Frick Museum, and Los Angeles County Museum of Art
- Become a history teacher at a high school in New York City
- Gone on –often with full funding and stipends– to PhD programs at Harvard, Cornell, Boston University, University of Southern California, University of Michigan, UT Austin, and the Courtauld Institute of Art in London
- Organized panels and presented at inter/national conferences like the Renaissance Society of America 2015 meeting in Berlin and the 2015 Art and Science conference at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam
- Become curators and educators at public and private museums
- Become lecturers and tenure-track faculty in art history at universities
