Exploring How to Prepare SMU Students for AI Expectations in the Professional World
Join the DCII Design and Innovation Research Cluster for a lunchtime interactive workshop to explore how AI should be taught and learned at SMU in order to prepare students for professional success in fields that value design and innovation. As AI becomes more prevalent, we’re still defining what it means to “use AI” in everyday professional life. What skills do we need to focus on in the classroom? This roundtable and workshop offers a space for students and faculty to share their experiences, ideas, and questions about AI fluency and its practical applications. Join as as we start to:
- Identify key questions and opportunities surrounding the use of AI in design education and professional practice.
- Understand how students and faculty define the use of AI, and help shape more actionable terms.
- Foster a collaborative space to share ideas and our evolving perspectives about AI in design and innovation fields.
Sponsored by the Design + Innovation Research Cluster of the Dedman College Interdisciplinary Institute. Speakers express their own views and not necessarily the views of the DCII or SMU.
All SMU students, staff, faculty, and alumni are welcome. Please RSVP below.
