OneNote Now Integrated in Canvas!

OneNote LogoOneNote is a great solution for digital notetaking, with students and faculty alike utilizing it to capture not only written notes, but any multimedia that can reinforce said notes. Now, our Canvas LMS has the ability for faculty to integrate a OneNote notebook directly within their class using Office 365! This provides the same experience as any other OneNote notebook, but with the added convenience of editing and collaborating directly within Canvas.

SMU Linux User Group Arriving in October

Starting this September October, the LUG will be open to any campus community members who share an interest in the Linux operating system, free and open source software and other related topics—both technical and non-technical. Results of the 2017 Student Technology Needs Assessment [Infographic]

In 2017, the Office of Information Technology (OIT) surveyed students and staff regarding technology use and support in order to assess and improve existing OIT services and discover new and innovative areas to pursue. The Fall 2017 Student Technology Needs Assessment surveyed over 1,900 undergraduate and graduate students at SMU, and the Faculty Technology Satisfaction Survey collected information from almost 200 faculty members. 2017 Student Technology Needs Assessment Now Available

SurveyAcademic Technology Services is currently soliciting feedback on the services and support offered by SMU’s Office of Information Technology (OIT) to students.  They are asking undergraduate and graduate student to take a few minutes to complete the survey for the second annual Student Technology Needs Assessment. The input gained from the questionnaire will help OIT to improve existing services and support, and create new technology initiatives.
