First up, Academic Technology Services will host the Canvas workshop Final Grades & Wrapping Up Your Canvas Course on December 6, 2023, at 11 a.m. As the semester comes to an end, let’s do a check of your Canvas course before submitting grades to my.SMU. In this workshop, we will cover final grades in Canvas by reviewing assignment scoring, assignment groups, and the gradebook.

New Security Awareness Training Coming to Campus

Cybersecurity Wellness ProgramJust in time for Cybersecurity Awareness Month, SMU is changing how we do cybersecurity awareness training. Last year, we launched a unique program focused on cybersecurity habits. Participants opting-in learned how to master cybersecurity habits and built a custom-tailored plan to make security feel easy. The responses from individuals completing the course were overwhelmingly positive.

OIT & University Testing Center Unveil New Testing Registration System

Over the summer months, the University Testing Center (UTC) and OIT have worked together to introduce a new online test registration system. This new platform enables faculty to quickly and easily request exam sessions at the UTC, and for students to conveniently register for their exam sessions from a central location. The UTC can now also offer testing access to area community members for a fee, further expanding the audience and availability of this essential campus service. Thousands have utilized this service to better themselves in technical and professional skills. Now, we have a BIG announcement for faculty that would like to use LinkedIn Learning content in their courses.
