Course Catalog & Schedule of Classes Online Training Now Available

Schedule of ClassesEarlier this year, IT Training collaborated with the Registrar’s office to ensure that all employees who are responsible for managing their academic scheduling had access to just-in-time training for Course Catalog and Schedule of Classes.

Previously, this training was only offered 2-3 times a year which proved problematic schedule-wise for both the trainee and the training department. The team’s vision was to make resources available whenever the scheduler needed it, as scheduling responsibilities occur only a few times a year, and not tied to times when the trainer, room schedules, and scheduler availability aligned. Let Your Mouse do the Walking: Internal Employee Directory Now Online

Old SMU 2016–2017 Directory CoverAh, the yellow pages: that massive tome – for the metroplex, anyway – filled with business listings from construction to casting (see also: talent agencies), bakeries to basket weavers, and so on. Until recently, SMU had its own print directory, Mustang Connections sponsored by SMU Student Media, that featured listings for students, faculty, staff members, and even department information. This directory served as SMU’s own reliable “yellow pages” – even though the pages were blue or gray – for some time, but eventually, technology innovations and environmental concerns caused SMU to move on.

New Changes to my.SMU Administrative Navigation

my.SMULast summer we started a journey towards a more intuitive my.SMU by releasing mobile-friendly navigation and a completely updated financial interface. This summer, we have been working on the next critical step in this journey by creating the framework for easier navigation through the entire system. My.SMUWith the 9.2 upgrade of my.SMU there are several delivered pages which replaced customized pages.  If you previously frequented or saved as favorites in my.SMU, pages such as the Graduate Transfer (GR/TR) App Entry, Batch Transcript, Unofficial Transcript, or the SMU Photo page, you will need to navigate to the new page in my.SMU.
