To help support the shared use of space and the upkeep of technology throughout campus, the University has established a new Technology Fund to aid in the maintenance and replacement of AV equipment in conference rooms and select indoor event spaces. This new fund goes into effect on June 1, 2025, with the new fiscal year.
There are several rules governing the use of this fund, including:
- Spaces must be easily reservable within STABLE and available for all faculty, staff, and/or students for use
- Departments are required to fund the initial AV installation if there is no existing AV equipment.
- Maintenance and upgrades will be covered by the central fund according to specific design “packages” or guidelines.
- OIT will manage the fund and oversee all upgrade projects
This summer, OIT will begin assessing all conference room technology for rooms that already exist in STABLE. This will help identify rooms that are in need of an upgrade quickly. We will then work with the corresponding areas to help plan and facilitate that work.
For any area that would like to upgrade its conference room technology, please complete the request form located in STABLE for the AV Installation. Our team will reach out to you with more details to discuss both the onboarding of rooms to STABLE and the upgrade process. Please note, due to the number of upgrades in Classrooms over the summer, only a limited number of conference rooms can be addressed before Fall. We are happy to add other conference room upgrades to the schedule throughout the year.
