AudioCodes 455HD Phone Update: New Features Coming May 19

icon of a phone on a blue blackgroundBeginning Monday, May 19, OIT will begin updating the AudioCodes 455HD phones. The latest update provided by Microsoft will indicate two new feature updates, Shared Lines and Line Keys. To prepare you for the update, we’ve included information on how to log in and what information is available on the feature updates.

Logging In

Follow these steps as you log in to your updated device:

  1. Open a web browser and visit microsoft.com/devicelogin
  2. In the Enter code to allow access dialog window, enter the code from your phone. If you don’t see a code on your phone, select refresh code (Note: the code is case-sensitive) and select continue for Microsoft Authentication Broker.  You will be prompted to close your window.   Microsoft Authentication Broker screenshot
  3. Now, proceed to your phone to log in to your device. You’ll be prompted to enter your email.
  4. screenshot of the phone screen displaying the we are signing you in.After entering your email, click the green checkmark on the key pad to confirm, and click sign in. You’ll see a notice that says, we are signing you in. (Note: Should an error display indicating “Sorry, but we’re having trouble signing you in” you will need to repeat the steps above.
  5. Upon successful login, your phone will display some information about teams. You can click Next and Got it and will proceed to the main phone interface.

Phone Notifications That May Display

After this update, Microsoft will begin pushing future updates and you could see some notifications on your phone. Here are a few banners you may see display

  • Configuration update is available. Proceed? –  You can postpone as your phone will need to be rebooted.
  • Phone is updating…  – You can hide this notice.
  • Restarting – You will have the option to Reboot or Do It Later. Either option is fine.

New Features

Shared Lines

More

After the update completes, you’ll see NEW next to the More button. When selecting More, if you are a delegate for another phone number, you’ll now see a Shared Lines option. This feature allows you to view the person you’re a delegate for, as well as any other delegates. The process of sharing a phone line with a delegate remains the same.

Line Keys

the line keys icon on the display of the Audiocode phoneLine Keys are a quick way to reach out to your favorite contacts at the touch of a button. You can now store up to 10 speed dial contacts and access them directly from the home screen. Learn how to assign line keys and take advantage of this feature upgrade.

Reordering Your Home Display

At any time, you can reorder your home display icons on the home screen:

  1. Select the More …  icon and follow these steps.
  2. Choose Reorder.
  3. Click the = icon on the right of the list and drag the Line Key item to be one of the top three list items. (Note: You can only have three default icons.)
  4. Reorder as desired.
  5. To save, click the check ✔ icon.
