Exchange Email Migration to the Cloud Nears Completion

Email MigrationIn late January, OIT began migrating our on-premises Exchange mailboxes to the Microsoft 365 cloud platform, where our student email accounts have resided for many years. We will complete our final migration by the end of April! As we conclude this project, faculty and staff email accounts will receive a higher storage quota of 100GB. In addition, faculty and staff will be assigned access to a variety of office applications that are part of the Office 365 suite at the end of April.  These include PowerBI, Microsoft Bookings, PowerApps and more.Microsoft 365 All Apps To access these applications, simply login to the Office portal.

Migrating to Exchange Online was the first step in a series of projects enhancing both email and voicemail services.  The next set of projects will focus on implementing new spam filtering and email security enhancements.  We will also initiate the project to begin converting our voicemail/phone service from Microsoft Skype for Business to the Microsoft Teams platform.  Additional information on the TEAMS migration will be available once the planning phase is complete.

If you have any questions about your migration, please let us know!
