New Foundations for Career Development Online Course Available

Briefcase iconThis summer, the Hegi Career Center and IT Training partnered to develop the Foundations for Career Development. This online course, conceptualized by Crystal Clayton, Executive Director of SMU’s Hegi Family Development center, provides the foundation for success in a student’s search for employment and is now accepting registrations.

Foundations for Career DevelopmentThe Foundations for Career Development is an entirely online course and provides job search training. Throughout the course, students will learn the basics of career development, including drafting resumes, performing well in interviews, successful networking, and writing professional correspondence.

The course may be completed at a student’s own pace and will give them experience with industry-standard online training via LinkedIn Learning. Upon completion, students receive a professional development credential to include on their resume and post to their LinkedIn profile.

Students may register for this opportunity through September 27, 2019. While the course is self-paced, students are encouraged to finish before the Foundations program concludes on December 6, 2019. Contact Vanessa Salazar at vsalazar@smu.edu, Administrative Assistant in the Hegi Family Career Development Center, with questions regarding registration.
