Skype for Business to display SMU ID photos

Skype Window with ID PhotosIn preparation for the upcoming deployment of the new phone system based upon Skype for Business, OIT will soon be uploading photos of all employees from the ID Card Services office into the new system. This means that your ID card photo will now be visible in Skype for Business, as well as other internal Microsoft services and programs like Outlook and SharePoint.

Later this summer, you will be able to update your photo a couple of ways:

  1. Having your photo retaken at the ID Card Services office in the Hughes-Trigg Student Center, or
  2. Upload a new photo via self-service by visiting the ID Card Service page at http://idcard.smu.edu, or by browsing directly to the photo upload page at https://idcard.smu.edu.

Once updated, the new photo may take a couple of days before it appears in Skype for Business as it is processed across our servers and services. If you would prefer to opt-out of having your photo appear in Skype for Business and other Microsoft services, you can do so within the Employee Directory in my.SMU.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the IT Help Desk at 214-768-HELP or 214-768-4357.
