Electrical Service Shutdown to Impact Networking on January 6.

SMU Buildings and Roads has circulated a notice that electrical service will be shut off to several campus buildings as a part of campus construction activities. The shutdown will begin on January 6 starting approximately at 6 p.m. and is expected to last approximately 6 hours. Offices in these buildings should remember to shut down computers and printers before the electrical service being shut off.

Buildings impacted by Shutdown

  • Underwood Law Library
  • Florence Hall
  • Perkins Administration Building
  • McFarlin Auditorium
  • Umphrey Lee Center
  • Hyer Hall
  • Fondren Library / SIC
  • Hughes-Trigg Student Center
  • Clements Hall

This shutdown will also impact network connections in the buildings. If you continue to have networking issues 30 minutes after the power has been restored, please contact the IT Help Desk at 214-768-HELP.
