  • helpdesk-menuClick the menu button in the upper left hand corner, select the Payroll/TimeAccess section and choose ePAF Permissions.
  • The ePAF request displays. Click Save and Close. This is the easiest form you’ll ever fill out! You don’t need to do anything else. (Note:  If you repeat the process you’ll open a second ticket for training!)
  • A confirmation that your ticket has been submitted will display; click continue and close.

Accessing Training

Once you submit the ticket, you’ll receive an automated email from the Help Desk that says “ACTION REQUIRED: my.SMU Training”. This notification will tell you that you’ve been assigned a tutorial to review for ePAF’s and includes instructions for login.

email ePAF notificationsThis short tutorial is housed in Canvas and you will be auto enrolled in the Canvas course. Please note the process to be enrolled runs multiple times throughout the day. So, if you log into Canvas and don’t see your course on the dashboard you’ll probably see it within the next hour. You’ll want to watch every slide of the training so that your grade of completion will populate.

epaf How long do I have to complete ePAF training?

You have two weeks to complete training. If training has not been completed within the two-week timeframe the request for security will be closed due to inactivity. If you need to keep the request for training open longer, please contact ittraining@smu.edu so that they can work with you.

What happens once I complete my training?

  • Upon completing your training, we ask that you send written verification to ittraining@smu.edu You’ll be prompted to do this from the tutorial directly!
  • IT Training will then close the training request and Payroll will be notified that your training is complete.
  • Once security is applied you’ll receive notification that the ticket is closed and you’ll have the access you need.
