Appspace v5.8 Now Available for Digital Signage

Appspace logoWe have upgraded our digital signage solution Appspace (formerly known as Nexus On-Demand) and are now able to deploy the updated digital signage system campus-wide. This latest version will enable new features, performance improvements, better browser support, and the ability to add additional networks to support more players on campus.

Appspace Login

The new Appspace uses your SMU ID and password for the login. Once a user is added to the system, they will be sent an invitation from the Appspace server granting access. Once they receive the email, they will be asked to accept the invitation. The user may click on the link or just go to appspace.smu.edu and log in. The SMU ID is prefaced by “smu\” for the username (for example, smu\12345678) and the password will be the regular SMU password.

Appspace Migration

We have migrated as many apps as we can from the current Appspace server to the new server. Some layouts, such as those using tickers and weather widgets, may need to be recreated. Starting next week, we will work with areas to update the server settings on the Player PC to point to the new server. Once the Player PC is directed to the new server, the user will be able to upload and edit content on the player by going to appspace.smu.edu and log in using smu\SMUID and your SMU password.

The current schedule is as follows:

Sept. 6: CUL, OIT, Dedman College, School of Education (All Networks)
Sept. 7: Cox School of Business (All Networks), DES, Engaged Learning, Moody, Public Affairs
Sept. 8: Dining Services, Loyd All-Sports, Meadows Museum, Meadows School of the Arts (All Networks)
Sept. 9: CAPE, Guildhall, HR, SMU-in-Plano

If this schedule conflicts with your areas needs, please contact the IT Help Desk.
