Transportation to INCS

–Please note: these instructions have changed as of Wednesday, March 20, at 4:28 pm CDT. You may download a differently-worded version of the same basic information, PLUS a map of the SMU campus, from here.  At the bottom you will find street addresses useful for Uber/Lyft drivers.

We have arranged for a shuttle bus to take you from Mockingbird Station to campus. The shuttle will begin service at 3:00 pm on Thursday and run continuously until 6:30 pm.

Mockingbird Station is easily accessed from the DART train that stops right next to the Marriott.  (Fare is $3; pay at kiosk at station with cash or credit/debit card).  The Pearl /Arts District Station adjacent to the hotel is served by all four lines; three of them (Red, Blue, and Orange) stop at Mockingbird, which is a six-minute ride (two stops) from Pearl/Arts District Station. Trains run frequently during the day.  (Stand on the side of the platform for trains to Parker Road, Downtown Rowlett, and DFW Airport.)

From Mockingbird Station, look for a 29-passenger mini-bus from the Wynne bus company displaying a sign for INCS 2019 in the window. (The bus will shuttle back and forth between Mockingbird Station and  the top (more or less) of Bishop Blvd, which is about a four-minute walk to Fondren Library West,  which houses the DeGolyer Library–and is our reception venue.

Hyer Hall, where the panel sessions are, is 300 feet away to your left as you face Fondren’s portico.

The bus will also stop at the Meadows Museum by request.

Alternatively, take either of the two free DART shuttles from the right-most bus bay at Mockingbird: the 768 SMU express (which is also convenient to Hyer Hall) and the 743 museum express (which stops directly in front of the Meadows, after stopping first at the George W. Bush Center. You can see the bus routes (and a map of campus) here. There is also a map of campus in your program.

Chartered buses will return you to the Marriott (one trip only); meet buses in front of library at 7:30 pm.
