Student Fellowships Now Open for Public Works Dallas 2019

The production for 2019 is "As You Like It" and positions are open for students to get involved and paid! Check out the positions below.   Public Works Dallas is a groundbreaking community engagement and participatory theater project designed to deliberately blur the line between professional artists and Dallas community members, and launched in 2017 with the help of the Meadows School’s Ignite/Arts Dallas and Meadows Prize. Start : June 2019 - August 2019 SUMMARY The Dance Assistants serve in a key, leadership role on the choreography team under both the choreographer and their associate. Assistants are instrumental in the teaching of the movement to the entire ensemble.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES They will be expected to be at all of pre production/audition week (June 10-15),  rehearsals (starting July 9th) and attend additional choreography and music rehearsals to help build confidence, skill and repetition within the ensemble.   SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS Fluency in Spanish preferred, not required. This role is ideal for someone on the BFA/Dance track, has a performative background or has a proclivity towards teaching dance and movement.   Start : August 2019 SUMMARY Assist with the load in, hanging & focus of theatrical lighting for the production.  Operate a follow spot during the production. Assist with striking all lighting equipment.  Reports to the Master Electrician.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Attend load in, all technical rehearsals, performances & strike. Assisting the Master Electrician in all areas of lighting and electrics, including the hang, focus, running, & strike of the production. Operation of a follow spot for technical rehearsals and performances Other duties deemed necessary and appropriate to the position by the Master Electrician.
