Be Heart Healthy at Any and Every Age

Heart disease can affect women at any age and the best thing you can do is start developing heart healthy habits….now! There’s no time like the present, and the American Heart Association has specific advice and resources to help get you started depending on your age group and what challenges you currently face.

Click below for advice based on specific age groups:

  • 20s– Perfect time to develop life-long heart healthy habits
  • 30s– Find ways to balance everything in your life
  • 40s– Make healthier choices by listening to what your body wants and needs
  • 50s– From starting a new career or sending kids to college your body is changing and it’s important to notice them
  • 60s– Heart attack is most likely to occur after 10 years of menopause

If you’re young, we encourage you to “read ahead” to learn more about how to keep your heart healthy as you get older. For those of us who are a bit older, flip back a decade (or two or three) for great advice you can still use and pass along to your family and friends.

Don’t forget, Wellpower also has many resources to support your overall health every day! Email us at wellpower@smu.edu with any questions.
