Having Problems When Filling a Prescription?
Begin Using Your New BCBSTX/Medco ID Card Immediately!
As a reminder, Medco replaced Prime Therapeutics as SMU’s pharmacy benefits manager, effective January 1, 2011. When filling a prescription you must use your new BCBSTX ID/Medco card. The Medco information needed by the pharmacist is on the front of the card.
If you use your old BCBSTX card, the pharmacist will be advised that you have no prescription drug coverage!
If you did not receive a new card, please call BCBS at 1-877-768-2005 to request an updated card.
