Sharlene Jenner is a recognized leader in marketing strategy and a subject matter expert on marketing uses for artificial intelligence, machine learning and personalized engagement. Described as an “executive bridge builder between engagement strategy and emerging technology,” Sharlene is a versatile and visionary executive with expertise in all facets of digital transformation, technology direction, executive strategy, full life cycle product management, integrated marketing, e-commerce, digital engagement, and project execution.
Sharlene teaches Artificial Intelligence and Personalization for Digital Marketers within SMU CAPE’s Digital Marketing Certificate program. She also is developing a new CAPE course for business professionals to learn how to leverage artificial intelligence (AI) to increase their efficiency and improve their work. With quickly evolving technologies like AI, Sharlene’s expertise and expert guidance can help individuals and organizational leaders understand the benefits and best practices to implement new platforms successfully.
Prior to joining SMU CAPE, Sharlene frequently presented keynote lectures for professional associations, highlighting digital transformation and emerging technology. In fact, CAPE staff invited her to join the instructional team after attending Sharlene’s presentation to the DFW American Marketing Association (AMA) chapter in 2019.
Sharlene especially enjoys interacting and exchanging ideas with students, who consistently impress her with their curiosity, creativity and desire to learn something new. Through the flexibility of CAPE’s programs, students from many fields can incorporate classwork in leading-edge topics like generative AI with other subject matter like digital marketing, graphic design, or legal studies. Sharlene is an enthusiastic advocate for her current and past students and encourages them to build and grow their professional networks. She finds satisfaction in the opportunities CAPE affords her, as an instructor, to help others accomplish their goals!
Named as a Top 50 Women Leader in Dallas in 2022 by The Women We Admire organization, Sharlene also has been recognized with numerous awards for her work in healthcare advertising.
Outside of her work as Vice President, Strategy at AbelsonTaylor and teaching at SMU CAPE, Sharleen and her husband enjoy traveling all over the world. When they are home, they enjoy cooking and have become avid cooks since the COVID-19 pandemic.
