SMU Joins 30 Universities in Offering Boot Camp Scholarships

Do you know someone who has been affected by recent job loss or financial hardship?

SMU, in partnership with 30 nonprofit universities across the country and our partner 2U, is expanding access to our boot camp courses in Coding and Fintech through a $3 million Boot Camp Scholarship Fund.

Upskilling and reskilling opportunities through these types of programs were already essential for our community. With recent economic devastation disproportionately affecting people of color and women, it’s vital that we expand access to these career accelerating courses.

Underrepresented people of color and women who have experienced a recent job loss or economic hardship are eligible to apply for $2,500 towards the cost of a course. Our boot camp courses have advanced the careers of diverse learners in highly relevant technology fields, and we’re excited to be a part of an effort to expand pathways to work for those who have been affected most.
