Toys for Tickets, SMUSA Holiday Toy Drive return – donate by Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016

Toys for Tickets 2016Toys for Tickets is back for 2016, and once again SMU faculty, staff and students can redeem unpaid parking tickets while helping to make the holidays brighter for children.

Created by SMU Parking and ID Card Services Office, the annual citation-forgiveness program offers campus community members the opportunity to pay off unpaid parking tickets by donating toys of equal or greater value.

To participate in the Toys for Tickets exchange, drivers must bring their parking tickets and a receipt for the toys by Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016 to the Parking and ID Card Services Office in Hughes-Trigg Student Center between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday-Friday (closed during the 2016 Thanksgiving holiday, Nov. 24-25).

The SMU Staff Association (SMUSA) is also collecting toys ranging from board games to remote control cars for its 2016 Holiday Toy Drive. The drive will continue through Wednesday, Nov. 30.

Once again, both Toys for Tickets and the SMUSA Holiday Toy Drive will benefit children served by the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center (DCAC), a United Way partner agency. All donated toys must be new, unwrapped, nonviolent and child-appropriate.
