Food, fun and Peruna in a Hawaiian print were the order of the day at SMU’s 2010 Mane Event, which took place April 30 on the Main Quad. Organized by the Student Foundation and originally celebrated as Peruna’s Birthday, the annual all-campus party commemorates the last day of class each spring.

Hundreds of high school students came to campus with their parents for an in-depth look at SMU during Mustang Days in March. The students – all of whom have applied and been accepted to the University – sat in on classes, visited residence halls, met professors and current undergraduates, and got a taste of Hilltop life at its best. On Feb. 5, 2010, SMU took part in National Wear Red Day to promote the American Heart Association‘s Go Red for Women campaign. February is National Heart Health Month, and the photo – cosponsored by SMU, SMU Wellpower, the SMU Women’s Symposium and the AHA – kicked off a series of events aimed at raising awareness of heart disease as the #1 killer of women.
