Save the date: Staff Development Day 2010 is March 11

SMU staff members can learn more about topics ranging from social networking to sustainable planting at the 2010 Staff Development Day March 11 in the Hughes-Trigg Student Center.

Planned sessions include presentations on tuition benefits and tax implications, preserving your family history, learning to use the University’s Locker private network, and “Spanish in a Flash.”

In addition, the day offers an inside look at the Tate Distinguished Lecture Series, a docent’s view of the Meadows Museum, and the surprising history of SMU’s Medical College.

“This year’s Staff Development Day is full of unique programming,” says Gretchen Voight, assistant registrar for academic ceremonies and Staff Association president-elect. “You won’t want to miss lunch where you’ll learn about SMU’s surprise beginnings. A medical college – who knew?”

A continental breakfast will be served at the opening keynote; lunch is available for a nominal fee. For more information and registration options, visit the SMU Staff Association website.
