SMU Libraries’ 2009 Food for Fines program begins Nov. 30

Food for Fines-NTFB logoSMU’s Central University Libraries (CUL) kicks off its 2009 Food for Fines program Nov. 30. The Libraries will accept food donations for the North Texas Food Bank in return for waiving library fines. For every donation of a can or package of nonperishable food, SMU faculty, staff and students will receive a $2 credit toward fines for overdue materials from Fondren Library Center, Hamon Arts Library and the Institute for the Study of Earth and Man Reading Room.

Bring food donations to any of these CUL libraries through Friday, Dec. 18.

Waiver credits do not apply to lost book replacement charges or processing fees. The credit may only be used against current overdue book fines – no future credit will be applied. Overdue fines may not be waived if they have already been sent to the Cashier’s Office for collection.
