Nia Allen is a Ph.D. student in Hospitality and Retail Management at Texas Tech University , her research focuses on luxury fashion’s relationship with Black women. She was a Dissertation Fellow at MTSU and is currently a Faculty Fellow at Belmont University. She holds degrees from Clark Atlanta University, Loyola University Chicago, and Kent State University, where she earned a Master’s in Fashion Industry Studies.

Nia’s work has been featured in Business of Fashion, PopSugar, and Business Insider. She’s also received the Women’s Trailblazer Award for her contributions to fashion and DEI. She also launched a local fashion weekend in Cleveland, Ohio supporting and inspiring African Americans in the fashion industry. She is steadily committed to empowering others who look like her to become change-makers in the fashion industry.

Nia’s greatest accomplishment is her child, Amari, whom she hopes will see her as a beacon of what he can become.
