Annette Becker is the director of the Texas Fashion Collection, an archive of nearly 20,000 historic and designer garments and accessories housed within the University of North Texas College of Visual Arts and Design. In that role, she stewards the TFC’s holdings, creates academic programming for wide-ranging audiences, and curates exhibitions for spaces ranging from history museums to shopping centers. Becker holds an MA in Art History from UNT, where she is currently a doctoral candidate in History. Her dissertation focuses on the business, consumer, and cultural histories of the American fashion industry from the late 1930s through 1970, highlighting designer awards given by different sectors of the fashion industry.
