‘Kings of the Hilltop’ by Gene Wilson

While many have written about the great SMU running backs, Gene Wilson’s book, Kings Of The Hilltop, will look at SMU’s famous quarterbacks.

The book also features an abbreviated history of Mustang football, beginning in 1915 with coach Ray Morrison, and features on other Mustang stars, who won major awards on field and in classroom.

Wilson is a former award-winning sports writer for The Dallas Morning News and business/entertainment/feature writer for Fairchild Publications in New York. He worked out of Dallas to cover the Southwest for Fairchild, where he also served as bureau chief.

Other works by Wilson include: Glass Hill, The Cauble Connection: A Texas Scandal of Drugs, $ex and Greed, The Kicking Game, Cotton & Co., and The Bad Boys of Dallas.
