Associate Professor James Lake has been appointed as a Research Affiliate at CESifo. CESifo Affiliates are promising young economists who are appointed after visiting the Center for Economic Studies (CES) at LMU Munich and the ifo Institute on a research stay. As a world-leading research network, the mission of CESifo is to advance the frontier of knowledge lying at the intersection of economics and economic policy. To this end, CESifo organizes a wide range of cutting-edge conferences and workshops and publishes their influential CESifo Working Paper series where Affiliates and Fellows circulate their ongoing research before eventual publication in academic journals.
James’ research naturally fits the mission of CESifo as it revolves around international trade policy and, in particular, theoretical and empirical issues surrounding the root causes of and the subsequent effects of Free Trade Agreements and WTO tariff negotiations.
